FAQs

  • To commission a relief print of my pet, simply visit my website's commission page at www.danielvillaart.com and fill out the form with details about your pet, preferred option, and specific details such an the deadline you are trying to meet. If I can accommodate your request, I will give you an estimated time of completion, request photo references of your pet, as well as how to pay for your commission online.

  • I encourage you to share clear, high-resolution photos of your pet from various angles. If there are any specific characteristics or favorite poses you would like to be included in the print, please let me know. Close up pictures with the pets whole face work best.

  • There are two options available for commissions.

    8 x 10-inch paper with image size around 5 x 7 inches.

    11 x 14-inch paper with image size around 8 x 10 inches

    All sketches will be drawn on 8 x 10-inch paper.

  • The timeline for completing a commission can vary depending on the complexity of the piece and current workload. Typically, it takes around 4-6 weeks from expressing interest and discussing the details for it to be completed. I will provide you with a more accurate timeframe during our email consultation.

  • I primarily use oil based inks that are archival-grade, ensuring the longevity and quality of the print. Oil based inks can vary in drying time. Most are dry to the touch in a week’s time frame and can be smear free by two weeks. I use acid-free paper to create the final artwork which preserves it for years to come.

  • There will only be one sketch made based on your reference picture. Please make sure you choose your favorite pet picture.

  • Prints will be shipped flat and unframed. Shipping costs will vary based on your location. I have flat rate shipping options for the US as well as international clients. You will be paying for shipping when you pay for the commission

  • I accept various forms of payment, including credit/debit cards, PayPal, and other secure online payment methods. Sorry, no cash or checks.

  • All commissions require full payment.

  • There is a limit of one (1) pet per commission. The linoleum block is 5 x 7 inches. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of room to appropriately include more than one furry friend. If you would like to have multiple pets in one piece, we can discuss that option via email consultation.

  • The block is not included in the commission as it becomes property of the artist.

  • Yes, any artwork created from the original block will be used for future print runs.

  • Copyright of any artwork belongs to the artist. Copyright of reference pictures belongs to the paying customer.
